THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
Can we humans get into heaven?
The Scripture says that God cannot accept a sinner in His presence. “You (the LORD) are of purer eyes than to behold evil, and cannot look on wickedness” (Habakkuk 1:13)
The Scripture condemns all under sin.
“For there is not a just man on earth who does good, and does not sin.” (Ecclesiastes 7:20) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for our sins is not only death in this life, but eternal death in hell. “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15)
But praise God, there is a way of salvation! “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
How can Jesus save you?
There’s only one way for a sinner to be forgiven, and that’s by blood sacrifice. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” (Leviticus 17:11) Jesus, the Son of the Living God, came to this earth about 2000 years ago and became a Man, so that He could shed His blood to pay for the sin of the world and save our souls from the condemnation of hell.
John the Baptist said of Jesus “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.’” (John 1:29) Jesus came to the world for that very purpose, to become a sacrificial Lamb, shedding His blood on a Roman cross to pay for your sins and for mine. God was so satisfied with the sacrifice of His Son, that He raised Him from the dead on the third day, to live forevermore! “Whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.” (Acts 2:24)
If we repent of our sins and place our faith in Jesus Christ for our forgiveness, trusting in His finished work on the cross, we shall be saved. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
Jesus is the only path to salvation.
There is no other way into heaven. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.’” (John 14:6) “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
So I challenge you today to place your faith in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation, trusting in Him alone and freeing yourself from the burden of your sins. “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) It’s believing the truth of the Gospel message that will save your soul and truly set you free from the bondage of sin. The Lord has promised in His word, “The one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” (John 6:37)
