3. How to learn about God

3. How to learn about God

God has set His Word, the Holy Scriptures, as the means by which He saves people. “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) So reading the Bible is how you can produce a saving faith. “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)

Do you find the Bible to be old fashioned and out of touch? Do you find God’s judgements to be repulsive? Are you indifferent? Or do you realize that Jesus is the only One that can save you from the penalty of sin, and you fall on your face in worship.

Reading the Scriptures will not only give you the opportunity to know God and gain eternal life, but they will also show you how to live your life in this world. “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

(I suggest to start reading the New Testament and reading 3 chapters a day- it will only take about 10-15 minutes and you will read the entire New Testament through in 3 months!)
